My name is Oatmeal

I am a Monk Parakeet

I am female

I am left pawed, I think

Monday October 18, 2004 is the day I hatched out

I don't know my adoptionday

The things that I eat (my likes & dislikes):

I like to eat whatever is on my flock's plate! I like bread and potatos the best.

I don't really like peanut butter, but I'll take a few nibbles if I'm up to it. Bananas just aren't for me.

Whenever I spot a flock member eating something that looks yummy, I flap and bob my head like a baby Quaker even though I'm an adult! My flock taught me to do it, but that's okay; it earns me a few extra treats!

What does my house (cage) look like:

I have an average sized cage with lots of toys. My cage has a little perch on top so I can sit outside of my prison.

My personality can be described as:

I don't like most men, and bite them when they come near. When I'm not exhausted, I'm usually friendly to women, even if they are strangers. When I'm tired or scared, I stick to my inner flock members and don't let anyone else close.

And on top of all that, I'm camera shy; almost all my pictures are blurry! I enjoy watching Oatmeal_Flock_Member when she's frustrated.

The toys I have (my likes and dislikes):

I love to destroy my little wooden duck. I have sucsessfully decapitated it and removed its tail. I have removed most of my bells from my toys. I also have a cuttlebone, but I ignore that boring thing.

The sounds that I make (and the words I speak):

I screech my head off whenever my favorite person (Oatmeal_Flock_Member) leaves the room without me. I can say "peek-a-boo" "step up" "That's a good bird" and "Oatmeal" I can make a number of odd noises including beeps, gurgles, whispers, and kisses. Some noises I invented myself!

Something special about me:

Well, of course I have something special! I have a loving family and a good home! I am in good health and am always happy! (Until something happens that doesn't go my way. I have to admit, I'm spoiled!)

I bet you're curious about my name. Well, since you've read this far, I'll tell you! My name is Oatmeal because I am a Quaker Parrot. Get it? Quaker Oatmeal, Quaker Parrot?
