My name is Bandit
I am a Nanday Conure
I am male, I think
I am left pawed, I think
I don't know my hatchday
I was adopted on Sunday December 17, 2006

The things that I eat (my likes & dislikes):

Guava, apples, grapes, strawberries, banana, etc. (I love all fruits)
I only like a few veggies: potatoes and carrots
Chicken, meat, fish
Millet and sunflower seeds
Nuts and bread
Spaghetti
I love pastries... Yummy!

I hate lemon (I once accidentally tried some- ouch!), shrimp, bird treats, cuttlebone, and soup.

What does my house (cage) look like:

I live in an open cage. My cage is almost never locked unless Maria and her family go somewhere for two days or more. But usually I get a pet-sitter in those cases. I also have a perch jungle gym in the other room that I sit on when I get bored of being on my cage and want to socialize a bit more.

My personality can be described as:

Bandit is an older bird, so he is naturally not as active. He has a bipolar personality and likes to switch his affections often. When we first got him, the only person he would play with was my mom. Then it was my dad, and he hated my mom. Now he hates my dad and only goes to me. So far, I have been his "favorite" for the longest time- almost a year. (He  decided my sister was unworthy of his attention.) Bandit is extremely loud and bites very hard. For the person not in his favorable ring, he can be dangerous as he has been known to fly and attack the head of one of these people one time. He is very protective of his hat, which he sleeps under, and his cage territory.

For the person he loves, Bandit is the sweetest boy ever. He loves to cuddle endlessly and makes adorable noises while preening the favorite. He also gets jealous if the person shows any interest in  hugging other people. At times I wish I had it all captured on camera. My family would never believe he was capable of being so gentle and cute!

The toys I have (my likes and dislikes):

Bandit does not like many toys and trust me, we have bought him enough trial toys to fill an entire cockatoo cage. The one toy that held his interest for a little time was a set of three looped mirrors with a bell hanging at the end. He likes to hold it and admire himself after a bath.

Bandit's treasured item is his hat. When we got him, he already had the hat. Now it is torn up completely but we have yet to find him a similar one so the torn hat stays... for now. :(

The sounds that I make (and the words I speak):

Oh my goodness.... do not even get me started! Bandit is sooooooooooo loud! My mom is about ready to murder him if he keeps on waking us up at six each morning!!!

Other than screaming, Bandit cannot talk. He ca, however, imitate really well. He can make running water noises, kissing sounds, hissing cat screeches, and imitate the syllables of words we say (for example, he can repeat what we say but in bird. It sounds weirdly similar though).

Something special about me:

Bandit is my first birdie, so I love him dearly. He is very good at comforting me when I am sad and he can be soooooo cute! I love him to pieces!
