My name is Robin
I am a Red-bellied Parrot
I am male
I am right pawed
Sunday July 31, 1994 is the day I hatched out
I don't know my adoptionday

The things that I eat (my likes & dislikes):

Robin is an extremely picky eater... He mainly likes pellets (I give Harrison's), and will eat carrots, corn, apples, and sometimes peas. He also likes seed and treats a lot. He dislikes most foods

What does my house (cage) look like:

Robin lives in a black 20x24 powder coated dome top California Cage. It's a very heavy good quality cage, and is only now showing signs of age after having it for 12 years.

My personality can be described as:

Robin is a feisty large parrot in a little body! He really thinks he is king. He hates any other birds, and has a dominant personality. He also has a quick and bad temper with an occasional violent streak. He absolutely loves attention and petting, but is equally as independent.

I am very proud of him for overcoming his terrible jealousy of other birds. It was a very traumatic experience for him. It took him about a year to accept that we live with other birds, since when they came, it had been many years since Robin lived with other birds. With this, plus other instances over the years, he had proved to me that he is mentally and emotionally very strong.

The toys I have (my likes and dislikes):

Robin is not real big on toys. His favorite is links of plastic chain (very cheap). He works on chewing each link until he destroys them, and the chain becomes shorter and shorter. He also loves bells. He occasionally touches his other toys and foot toys.

The sounds that I make (and the words I speak):

Robin is a pretty vocal guy. It usually doesn't bother me, because he makes a wide variety of sounds (not just the same irritating noise over and over). His voice also is not very loud in volume (compared to larger parrots), so it is usually easy to ignore. Robin does say some words and phrases, but his favorite is "hi, I'm Robin". He also makes various household noises.

Something special about me:

I think all birds have their own unique special qualities, but what is very special between Robin and I, is that I've had him for quite a while now, since he was 3 months old, and he will be 13 years old  July 31, 2007. I think we know each other inside out, the way you do when you've had a good friend for 13 years!
