My name is Shrek
I am a Rose-ringed Parakeet
I am male
I don't know if I am left or right pawed
I don't know my hatchday
I was adopted on Friday March 3, 2006

The things that I eat (my likes & dislikes):

He will eat almost anything I give him. He loves fruit, lettuce, broccoli, carrot, and beans. He eats seeds and pellets and grit. He likes the corn in the seed but only after he has softened it in his water dish first.

What does my house (cage) look like:

He has a fairly big cage but I want to get him an aviary so he has alot more space. I do take him out to stretch his wings whenever I can but I have to take it in turns between him and Chirpy, otherwise they may fight.

My personality can be described as:

He can be a really naughty boy sometimes and he is cheeky and curious. He is also really intelligent. He does little dances for Chirpy. He wont let anyone put thier hand in the cage but me which poses feeding problems when Im away. I usually dont go away for very long and give him enough food and water to last that time. He gets loud and a little odd when I take Chirpy inside and im not sure if it is because he doesnt want Chirpy to go away or if its jealousy that it isnt him going inside. He likes to get close to me but he doesnt like being touched. He doesnt like going to bed and will always try to engage me in conversation when I come out to cover him.

All summed up, he is very much like a 3year old boy.

The toys I have (my likes and dislikes):

He has some old thread reels, a wooden chewing block, plastic rings, a ladder, an old hooked bar from his last seed treat, some funny little plastic toys, and a rope figure 8 shaped toy. He uses them all at different times and for different purposes. The wooden block if for chewing on, the hooked bar, reels, and plastic rings are for holding whe he does his little dances, one of the plastic toys he gets cranky at and fights with every night before bed, and the rope toy he sleeps with and chews.

The sounds that I make (and the words I speak):

He makes lots of noise when trying to talk to other birds or trying to get our attention focussed on him but the rest of the time he is fairly quiet.  He is able to talk and says some of the funniest things sometimes. He says "Hello, Shrek", "No swear words." "Come here." "Come on." "whats up." and a few other things. He also makes laughing noises and clicking noises and whistles a few things.

Something special about me:

He has his comforter, his 'blankie' so to speak which is his rope toy. He sleeps with one foot hanging on it and one foot hanging on the wire.
