My name is Chongo
I am a Sharp-tailed Conure
I am male, I think
I am right pawed, I think
I don't know my hatchday
I was adopted on Tuesday November 13, 2007

The things that I eat (my likes & dislikes):

I love Nutriberries!  And dried pineapple.  And peppers.  So far...although I'd really like to know more about what the other flock members eat.    In my cup, I get Conure Fiesta, just like I did before they brought me home.  It was a big change, and she wanted to keep as many things as she could constant.  I think he might slip me some of what they eat once in a while if she wasn't always looking.  I could probably sucker him into it.

What does my house (cage) look like:

I got a few toys right away when I came home, and a cuttle bone, and fresh food and water, and a blanket to go over my home.  Oh -- and perches.  One regular ol' perch, one manzanita (that's the one I like to sleep on, snuggled next to my wood toy), and one that's purple and gritty.

A couple days after I came home, they went away.  I didn't like it, but when they came back, she had this brown paper sack, and she pulled all sorts of toys out of it!  There was one that has a bunch of blue feathers on it that I can stick my head in, and it has beads and stuff.  There's another one that she made with some green string and blocks and dried cactus bits and a bell and some other chewy stuff.  And a rope perch that she put on the outside of the cage so I can climb around when I don't want to snuggle.

My cage is a lot bigger, too.  I have room to stretch out and run around and hang upside down and flap my wings, and I can slide down the bars, too.  I can swing from my feather toy between perches, too.  She calls me "monkey bird" when I do that.

My personality can be described as:

The toys I have (my likes and dislikes):

I have lots of toys in my cage, but my favorite thing to do is snuggle up on someone's shoulder and get kisses and rubs.  I also really like playing with paper towels -- they're fun to shred.

I took a bath in the shower for the first time after coming home with my new flock friends.  The guy took me in there, and then he took his feathers off, and then there was water coming out of the wall.  At first I didn't know what to think, but when I stuck my head in it, it was water!  I got good and soaked and then she came in and got me, so I could go dry off in the warm front room.

I really like the bells in my cage.  I have a green square one on a rope with a bunch of blocks and stuff to chew on.  The other is a normal one with pieces of wood on a chain above it.

Sometimes I get to stand on the keyboard and help the guy play video games or surf the web, too.  Oh, and getting my picture taken.  And going for shoulder rides around the apartment.  And playing in people's hair!  Everyone always says I do a good job fixing their hair, too.

The sounds that I make (and the words I speak):

I learned how to make kissy noises, and that made everyone really happy.  I can also say "haha."  I'm working on "uh-oh."  I don't make too much noise...they sleep kinda late in the day.  I get lots of time to talk, though, once they wake up.  I can make as much noise as I want to.  I know there's another bird in the apartment, because I can hear it, but I can't see it yet.  I can hear chirping and sometimes I call back, so we can talk.  It bugs me that I can't see that other bird.  I used to have all sorts of other birds around me, and they were so noisy they kept me from napping.  They told me I'll get to meet the other bird pretty soon, though -- her name is Ozzie and she's a cockatiel.

Something special about me:

Everything!
