I had a funny surprise last night when I went to cover the cage that my female quails are in. The silver one was roosting! It makes sense considering they are a kin to chickens and chickens roost but I'd never seen it before. It took me by surprise and I went around telling everyone. I took it as a compliment of sorts cause I figured it meant that they are starting to find thier natural behaviours again seeing as thier cage is as close to being natural as I could make it. It looked very cute. Has anyone else ever come across thier quail roosting? |

The cage they r in is a bit taller cause I have a pair of doves in it as well and instead of perches I just put a branch in there. I think the branch is close to 2ft tall and she was about halfway up it on a slant. |

that'd be so cute Annabelle... Ihaven't seen my done that, but I dont have any perch that's lower than 3 - 4 feet high, and I guess that's too high for them?? May be if I put something lower for them? I guess I can only test it out huh |
