I had my blue Quaker in 1998 when he was 12 weeks old and he has been like my 1st child all these 8 years. He was my baby. He'd sit with me and 'cuddle' me when I was sad and laugh with me when I was happy, he'd preen me 24/7.
On Tuesday he was having his normal fly - he had 24 hr frre fly in the house and for some reason he must have misjudged the room and he flew into the window, I have nets up but it didn't help, he broke his neck instantly. I am so sad now I am lonely and don't know what to do.
I do want another bird but it hurts so much. Any advise?

Oh NO! I'm so sorry about your quaker
You know you'll never be able to replace your baby, but I'm sure that a new fid will help ease the pain & fill the empty void. I guess I really couldn't imagine not having a bird in my home. Tho I can only speak for myself.
Do you have any pictures of your Quaker? I'm sure we'd all love to see him. I am very truly sorry about your loss hun |

Sarah,
I responded to your other post.
I'm so sorry to hear that that's how your little guy pass away. It is truely tragic when their beautiful lives are cut short like that. I know this is a very hard time for you and I just want to say that give yourself time to grieve for your little friend, but always remember to keep his memory alive by thinking about the good times you had together. He lived a much loved life with you, and he knew that he was cared for. He's now sitting on your shoulder as your winged angel watching over you now.
You know that no bird could ever replace your little friend, but just know that if and when you're ready to take in another bird, there's are plenty of birds out there that seek the kind of love you gave to your little friend. I'm sure your little friend would love to continue giving your love to another little feathered friend like him. {{{HUGS}}}
Take care

After my Sunny died I went and bought another . I don't think it was so much that I wanted to replace Sunny, but not seeing him or hearing him I knew that I just had to have another conure to help me try not to miss him so much. Did it work I don't really know. Im not over his death yet. The guilt is terrible I know been there too. I keep hoping I'll get past this one day but so far Im not and it was December 26th 2004 my 5 birds died from me leaving my oven door open and the gas killed them. I know what you are going through. Let us know if we can help to get you through this. dana |
