| Today was the day!!! |

Today was the bird show! I am very happy that I went. I did find the man I was emailing with (Ray). I also saw several other breeders with baby Quakes! After spending time with a couple of the younger ones from the breeders next to Ray. I went around to check out the cages/toys/food ect. I found a really nice cage I feel straight in love. Its a little lower to the ground that I wanted or like. Other then that its perfect- down to the price! The size is 30x30x63 -- with an awsome playtop. The price on the cage was $162.00-- they had several other smaller -- off the ground cages. They just were not as appealing to Me! So I found a couple of 18x18x26 cages one for transporting & one for his night cage. These cages were each $18.00 each. With Me being a 1st time bird owner, also there cockatoo kept wolf whistling at me They said I could have all 4 cages for a grand total of 185.00!
I spent about $60.00 on toys, I knew I could or wouldnt want to make. Swings, perchs, ladders, foot toys, a boing boing, and a cozy bed. I know I said I wasnt going to get one, but I figure Ill try it out!
I then spent $60.00 on food  He is still being handfed -- 3 times. Also the small seed, neturo berry treats, a couple of treat sticks, some larger seed. I didnt plan on spending that much, but I guess ya do what you have to do!
Then it came time to pick My baby! He had 3 to choose from, one was calmer then the rest. One was flighty & didnt seem to like being held. Then there was a semi-nerves bigger one/older by a couple of days. He was pretty mellow, a couple of squaks --- and then the baby quake!!! So hes the one I choose. I named his Suki --- and at this very moment he is taking a nap. I should wake him soon to see if hes hungry. Here are some pics of him --- he has to learn that his momma is the paparazzi!

I don't own a quaker but I love looking at everyone's pictures and hearing stories. Congratulations on your new baby!! He is very cute! I love the picture of the siblings and the way that one has his wing around the other. That's adorable. Also sounds like you got some great deal on cages there. Enjoy!!

Were doing WONDERFUL!!! Ive been so busy -- sorry for not posting like I should!!!
He is a gem, hes been talking. His 1st word was "yum" at about 8 weeks -- hes going on 4 months on the 3rd & hes talking up a storm. Hes a true little pistol
Its really a shame that not more people choose them! He is noisy at times, nothing like anyone has described *knock on wood*
Ive actually got the MBS -- Im looking into getting a Zon or a Grey. Zon Im thinking, I love there tudes, smell & sounds! A couple from our bird group owns pairs (pets not breeding) I love them ALL, even the older man that is nippy LOL! The greys are nice, sweet --- but they dont really have much tude that Ive seen
Here are all the up to date pictures ---
