getting acclimated to a new cage

I just got a beautiful big cage with a play station on top for my south american yellow nape parrot who is 27 years old. He seems uncomfortable with the new cage and is sitting on the edge on the top of the cage for several days now and not moving. Can anyone give me advise regarding changing cages and how long is takes for a parrot to become acclimated to a new habitat? Thank you.
