| Step by Step guide to posting pics on the Fluffies forums. |
|
|
Posting pics can be a bit daunting when you're not sure what you have to do. But let me try to help you with it. Follow the steps by steps instruction, hopefully it'll work for you. Please also note that this instruction is for Internet Explorer browser. I have not test it on other browsers. Let me know it doesn't work for your browser. I can do some research for you!!
First of all, to be able to post in Fluffies forum, you'll need to have your pics uploaded to the internet already. If it's still in your computer, you'll need to sign up with a image hosting service. I strongly recommend Photobucket!! You may choose to use other services, it is your own preference, but you'll need to make sure that they allow direct image linking to their site, otherwise it would not work. If you have your own website already that you can upload the pics to, that would work as well.
Anyway, let's get started. (the instruction is for this forum only, other forums may vary as to how pics are posted there. It may be the same, but may be different)
There's three steps to posting here in this forum...
Step one.... Sign up with a Image hosting service that allows direct image linking. If you don't have one already, follow the instruction below....
Go to www.photobucket.com. Sign up for a free account. Follow the instruction until it says 'congratulation yadi yadi yada......'. Now you are set to upload some pics onto the internet. But before you do that, please make sure that your pics are of a reasonable size for internet. I usually post it at 650pixels x 650pixels, and I also keep the file size under 100kb. (if you need help with that, please let me know)
Back to posting pics. Log into your now activated photobucket account. You'll see in the top of the page some empty fields for you to fill out. In the 'picture' field, choose your pics from your computer by using the 'browse' button next to it. A seperate window ('Choose file') will pop up. Locate the pic file that you want to upload. You can either double click on the file you want, or click it once, then click 'Open' which is located on the bottom right corner of the window. Once you've clicked 'open', the window will disappear, and you will now see the location of your file in the 'picture' field. You can put a title with the pics if you want. Just type it in the field 'Tag or Title' below. Once you're happy with that, click 'submit'. Now wait for a bit pending on your internet connection and also the file size, it may take from a few seconds to a few minutes. When it has successfully uploaded, the page will refresh, and now you will see the phrase '*Pictures added' on top of the picture field.
Ok great, once that's done, scroll down the page. You will now see a little thumbnail of the pic you've just loaded onto the net, click on the thumbnail to see the full size pic. When it's in full size mode, it'll have the title, the size, and also the dimension of the pic. Click on the image again to get back to thumbnail mode again.
Once you are back in your 'index' page (the one that shows you all the little thumbnails), you should be able to see three lines underneath it that says.... URL, TAG and IMG. If they are by chance not there. Go back to the top of the page, click on 'account options', once you're in, click 'yes' for all of 'display URL, display Tag, and Display IMG'. Click 'update'. Scroll back down, now you should be able to see the three fields I was talking about. Now we're ready to post the pic in the forum.
Step two.... Posting pics on the Fluffies forums
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTION IF YOU ARE USING PHOTOBUCKET.
From the photobucket account. Highlight the whole of the 'IMG' field (all you have to do is left click in the field once, it'll automatically highlight the whole field for you), copy what's highlighted. You can copy it by Holding the 'ctrl' key on your keyboard then click the letter 'c' (at this point you may release both keys as it has copied it for you.) OR you can right click over the highlighted text, then click 'copy'.
Come back to the forum, start a new post in the appropriate forum section. In the text box where you'll normally type. paste the IMG field that you've copied. It should look something like this.... [img] http://www.photobucket.com/xxxxx/xxxx/xxx.jpg [/img] . You can paste the field by holding the 'ctrl' key, then click the letter 'V', or right click in the text box, then click on 'paste'. This should do it. If it doesn't paste, you probably didn't copy it right, therefore, you should go back and copy the URL/Address again.
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTION IF YOU'RE USING SOMETHING OTHER THEN PHOTOBUCKET.
You will need to upload the pics you want to post in the forum to the internet. Hopefully you already know how to do that as I can't help you here because I don't know what you're using!!!
Once you have your pics uploaded to the internet. Locate the
full sized
pic. Now you'll need to figure out the URL or address to the picture itself, not the page it's on. The way you do that is, right click over the picture, then go right to the bottom and click 'properties'. A new window will pop up with all the info regarding this particular pic. What you'll need to do now is to highlight it, then right click over the highlighted text, then click on 'copy' to copy it.
Once you've done that, come back to the forum. Start a new post in the appropriate forum section, or you may reply to a topic with a pic. In the response or new topic page there's a text box. and just above the text box, there are a series of BBCode button. Click on the one that says 'Img'. '[img]' should now have appeared within the text box. Now you have to paste the address you've copied from before right next to it. You can paste the field by holding the 'ctrl' key, then click the letter 'V', or right click in the text box, then click on 'paste'. This should do it. If it doesn't paste, you probably didn't copy it right, therefore, you should go back and copy the URL/Address again. Once you've pasted the URL/Address, now click on 'Img*' button. [/img] should now appear behind the address that you have just pasted. Please make sure that there's no space in between [img] and [/img]. It won't work if there's a space in between them. So now you should have a line that looks something like this [img] http://ww......./xxxx/xxx.jpg [/img] (minus the space of course. I needed to put those spaces in to show you what it'll look like)
Step three.....
Ready to post!!!
Right you're almost there....
You can obviously type a little message or whatever to go with the photo to explain, or just to put a bit of caption to the pic. Once you're done, you can preview it first to see if it's worked. You can do this by clicking on 'preview' down below the text box. (I'm pretty confident that it will.)
Remember to put in a title for the post is it is a new topic.
When you're happy with what you see. Click 'submit'... and we're on our way to posting a pic on the fluffies forum!! Good luck.
Cheers
