thanks. But this may come as a shock to you.. I'm actually Chinese. born in Malaysia, moved to Australia back in 1991. So where did I learnt chinese from... hmmm I know five different dialects...
MANDARIN
... I learnt from school..
CANTONESE
... I learnt from watching too much movies made in Hong Kong (they use cantonese most the time there),
HAINANESE
.. .that's my 'native tongue dialect'....
HOKKIEN
... learnt from school friends and cousins as that's their native tongue dialect...
HAKKA
... that's my mum's native tongue dialect.
Plus, I can understand a couple more other dialect but I can't speak it.
Oh also add Malay (a little) to my list of languages. |

I wasn't born in China. I was born in Malaysia. My granddad was from China though. I'd like to visit China one day... just to go back to my ancestrial place I guess. I know I have distance relatives there, but I wouldn't know where to start looking!!! LOL
And I can't say I've heard of the book Chinese Cinderalla. I'll have to look it up. |
