I think it's a good idea, though..
We might run the risk that people might not go to the vet.. Or see us as experts?
And that's something we're not.. Avian vets..

What are your thoughts about this? Smile

Sue,

I agree that it is a good idea, but I also agree with your concerns...

Any way a permanent title can come up that says that we are not vets!

Just a thought

I think that it is a good idea, but I can also see some of the concerns people have here. I think to have that, the first response should always be go get a qualified avian vet's opinion!

It could also be a place where we can just discuss about illnesses, diseases and stuff, and may be post info about different birds diseases here. It could be like a resouse section. Just a thought. Smile

Hi Fi!
I can definitely put some sort of disclaimer on top, but I doubt if people would read it?
Perhaps if it's very very short.

It could be a good resorce for anyone with concerns or who couldn't get to a vet at that time. It would put all the emergency/illness related topics in one spot for quick access and others could share experiences of their own coping with a sick bird after they had been to the vet.

Thanks for your input Shells.. Smile
I am afraid though that people might just see it as 'expert advise'.. That's something I don't want! Smile
How could we make this clear? Any ideas?

Personnally,it's a good idea in thought, though in my opinion that should be left to a avian vet or someone in that field of knowledge. My own experiance with animals and birds is one thing l can pass on,but it doesn't mean it is the right thing to do.For even though l have belief's that are proven and true it doesn't mean l'm right.Sorry, but l have to say l can't be in this option, thanks for trying anyway Smile Keep the ideas coming anyway, for you never ever know unless you try..cheers Smile

We Should Have it!  Reply with quote

I think we should...

But we will only talk about the actual illness, not how to cure it!
And that would ruin the fun...I don't know, what do you guys think?
