In general you can say they breed end of spring and early summer. BUT there is no real general breeding period. IF a couple likes each other they may choose to breed almost whole year.
First question, is the african grey of your friends and your Sidney tested on contagious diseases? If not they should not be put together in a cage.
Putting them together in a cage can be done, BUT there is no guarantee that this will work. There is a possibility that they do not like each other and putting them together will result in continuous fighting. So in all cases be prepared that they must be put in separate cages. |

AGs usually breed in the winter time (when days are shorter).
I would not recommend putting the birds in the same cage until they have been introduced for a few days, living in the same room w/ each other, and having plenty of supervision "playtime" together. They may not like each other and may fight. |
