is it me or is there something wrong with the horizontal scroll bar?
when I browse pictures I cannot scroll to see the photos on the right (or the right part of the photos) that do not fit on my screen. |

Hey Sue, I get this problem too actually. It's not a big issue usually because i can increase the width of the window and see everything usually, but in some sections such as "parrots around the world" i just can't see all the photos. You probably wouldn't know my browser unless you're a mac user, but it uses the same rendering engine as Apple's safari. Hope this helps.

I use Internet Explorer 6 (windows xp) and my boyfriend has the same problem (same browser, same windows).
Ioanna, do you perchance have any connection with Greece?
I'm asking because your username and signature name do sound Greek and it's a surprise for me in a mainly English-speaking-countries dominated forum. |

Ioanna, strange to hear you also have this problem..
Do you mean the parrots around the world in the /en/ section or the old site?
Vis: Strange to hear that you have explorer 6 and still have this problem?
I will give it a better look.. But I don't know..
Are you from Greece? I was taught Greek (ancient though!) in school.. |

wow! I'm flattered! Are you European? Have you studied ancient greek passages?
Modern Greek is similar although easier to learn than the ancient language and much harder than english.
If you look into that scroll bar problem, tell us so that we'll check whether the changes you made have worked. |

Hi Vis!
I'm from the Netherlands, Europe..
I've studied ancient Greek passages, and I've also been to Crete when I had just started learning Greek. I got a t-shirt then with some Greek lines. I think eimi (I don't know where the Greek characters are located on my keyboard!) is 'I am' and it's the same as in ancient Greek?
Most of my Greek has 'left my memory' but I think I can still read some.. I hope!
Was ancient Greek more difficult? I wonder if it was because of the different dialects? I learned several dialects and the differences were tiny, though you could easily get confused as the, let's say, dativus of one word could be the vocativus (I'm sure this example doesn't make sense, but it helps me explaining) of that word in another language.
Also with verbs..
Could you try to send me a printscreen? ownwebsite@fluffies.org |

Hey Sue, I tried the "parrots around the world" section again and it seems fine now, but I still get the problem when viewing diary pages. For example Greg's diary page here: http://www.fluffies.org/en/flu.....mp;start=0
The problem is that the horizontal scrollbar appears but if i move it all the way to the right I still can't see the edge of the photos. The only way I can see the entire photo is by increasing the size of the window. It's a strange error isn't it. Thankfully I can always just resize the window and see the photos
Vis_Vitalis: I'm from Cyprus but I've been living in Australia for the past 7 years. It's good to see another Greek here, I think that makes 3 of us now! What part of Greece are you from? |

Hey Guys, sometimes changing your monitor setting may help with the viewing of the page.
What settings are your monitors on? It may help. Just a thought.
The pics I see on my page are fine, as in i can see all of the pics without any bits being cut out. |

I've got a 800x600 resolution (my eyesight is lousy)
yes I guess changing the settings works but since I found a bug, why not report it to the mods?
Fluffy Sue: ancient Greek is more difficult because the declination was more complex, the prepositions more numerous, the grammar more strict and the accentuation a bit of a perplexed issue. "Eimi" means "am" (as in "I am" - in Greek we do not always use a subject because the verb is conjugated and there can be no confusion on what regards the subject-verb agreement) and the modern version of the verb is "eimai". By the way, I've never been in Crete :p
Ioanna: three of us?? there's an other?? I'm from Piraeus. |

Hi Vis..
The site was originally designed for more common resolutions. With 480 * 640 this problem can occur..
Were you viewing the site in that resolution or with the resolution you mentioned? (800-600)
Thanks you for explaining the difference between modern Greek and ancient Greek..
Never been to Crete? It's lovely! I went to Knossos as well and it was quite interesting! |

Sound's to me like the screen settings, sorry, but l run my screen settings at
1024X768
to give me better pixels due to my photography, hope this helps .All you have to do is resize your setting by right clicking on your screen to properties then go to settings and set them at the size l just mentioned by moving the button on the box across till it say's the setting's you would like to show
(1024X768).
Then click apply and you will see all the photo's of mine and any that may cause you problem's.You will need to restart your computer to have these setting to take effect as it should ask you then you click "yes"Then if your not happy with the smaller icons that you see on your desktop, just go back and reset to the way it was.Hope this helps :wink:Most of the time this problem is caused by the settings and program's we have installed on our computer, but doesn't matter how old or new your computer is you should have this setting available for it's standard in Microsoft programming.. |

Yeah, I keep my monitor set at the hightest resolution too, so you can see MORE of the screen without having to use the horizontal scroll. |
